The soundtrack album for the film Dune by Denis Villeneuve has been released. They were written by composer Hans Zimmer, who also created musical accompaniment for Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator and Interstellar.

The album includes 22 tunes. They can already be heard on all popular music services.

The recording features female voices, whose speakers had to learn an invented language. Even the instruments were created especially for the project. According to the director, the music had to sound so that it was clear that it was from another world. And the performers, who used traditional instruments, had to learn to play in a new way.

Denis Villeneuve said that Frank Herbert’s novel is one of Zimmer’s favorite books and that the composer wanted to work on the soundtracks for the film. That must be why there’s so much experimentation with sound in the film.
